Things to do in Edinburgh during the Easter holiday!
We know - it feels like the kids have only just been off school but the Easter holidays are fast approaching already. Yet again, you need to find activities to fill two whole weeks off during the time of the year that often only means one thing to kids: sweets. Of course, after all their hard work over the term, we’re sure they deserve some days off to enjoy their treats. However, if you’re looking to get out and about too, we’re here to help with some suggestions.
Here are our top 5 picks for things to do this Easter in Edinburgh!
🔍 Hunt for clues rather than eggs!
The most obvious thing to get the kids involved with over Easter is an egg hunt - the Easter bunny can cover the chocolate eggs but we can certainly help with the hunting! The entire family can get involved with looking for clues and solving puzzles in our escape rooms, and they’ll be using their brains to do so rather than their sugar cravings, so it’s a win-win from a parent's point of view!
We’re proud that both Operation Odyssey and Operation Spellbound are suitable for kids but don’t just take our word for it - listen to the hundreds of families who’ve come along and left us great reviews after their visit!
Sessions over the holiday are likely to book up quickly, so head over to our bookings page to check availability or drop us an email on info@canyouescape.co.uk if you have any questions.
💚 Discover our impact on the planet at #LitterCUBES
Climate change and environmental issues are a hot topic at the moment, and rightfully so. Educate your kids on the impact of our actions through art at Dynamic Earth’s #LitterCUBES drop-in event!
🔬 Get those brains ticking at the Science Festival
In Edinburgh, we’re lucky that the Easter holiday coincides with the Edinburgh Science Festival so there’s always plenty of things to do! Here are some events that stuck out to us:
Mars Master Constructors: If your little astronauts are inspired after their time on board the Odyssey escape pod, they might enjoy helping out humanity’s first Mars colony at the City Art Centre!
Blood Bar: Are your kids more interested in the grosser, gorier side of science? Take them along to the City Art Centre’s Blood Bar!
Volcanoes That Rocked Edinburgh: Go on a walk around Arthur’s Seat and Holyrood Park with a geologist to discover Edinburgh’s volcanic past!
🐇 Take part in a Easter hunt at the Botanic Gardens
For some classic Easter fun, why not head along to the Botanic Garden’s Bunny Trail, running every day during the holiday. Enjoy a walk in the gardens with some springtime sunshine (🤞), and get a tasty treat at the end!
🌙 Explore some Virtual Worlds
At Can You Escape?, we’re all about creating immersive new worlds for our players to explore. Down at the City Art Centre, there are even more to discover in their VR exhibit! There’s even the chance to walk on the moon: another opportunity for our Odyssey cadets to have an out-of-this-world space experience!
