5 Reasons to Play Your First Escape Room

I’ve worked in the escape room business for over three years now and still the most common thing I hear when talking about my job is: “Oh, I’ve heard about these escape room things! I just haven’t got round to doing one.” My response is always the same.
Here are 5 reasons why it’s time to play your first escape room!
It’s for anyone
I’ve spoken to more customers than I can count; from first-timers to enthusiasts, from managers booking a team building event to students looking for a break from their studies. Our staff can go from running a children’s birthday party straight into greeting a rambunctious hen do. My point is: escape rooms are for everyone. Don’t ever think that you’re too old, not clever enough, not anything enough, to play one of our rooms. We have an incredible team of Games Masters who work hard to ensure that every single one of our customers has a unique and enjoyable experience, and you’ll be no exception.
It’s not as pricey as you think
At first glance, escape rooms aren’t the cheapest activity. We charge based on group size so it can seem a little daunting; however, break it down per person and it’s more friendly than you might think. We also have various discounts to take advantage of, like our 20% off for students and NHS & armed forces employees (top tip: only one member of your group needs to bring along a valid ID for everyone to get the money off!).
Don’t forget that if you’re making a booking far enough in advance, we’re more than happy to reserve your session for a few days while you gather money from your group. Simply drop us an email!
Finding the time
Now this is something almost everyone can relate to as an adult: how on earth do we find the time? Coordinating different work and life schedules can be a nightmare, but good news: we’re open 7 days a week from 10:30am to 9:00pm so you’re bound to find a time to suit everyone, even if it does take a couple of months to organise!
We all deserve new experiences
Following on from the woes of being an adult, it can feel like a pretty bleak time in history these days. Now we’re not saying that current affairs aren’t important - they are, of course - but we all need to remember that we deserve happy memories, time off, and new experiences. Don’t let the world bog you down.
It’s not scary, we promise!
We often hear concerns from first-time escapers that our rooms might be scary; whilst some companies absolutely do go down the horror route and excel in this area, we’re a little more family-friendly and choose story immersion and light-hearted fun over jump scares! For those suffering from claustrophobia, we’ll do all we can to make you feel comfortable: we can leave the door ajar or wide open, and if anyone wants to leave after entering the room for whatever reason, you can - we’re not that mean!
